Hatch Show Print poster 11½ × 19 inches, two-color letterpress print; Fall 2004
I was commissioned by the Communication Design department at MassArt to print this poster which promoted a talk given by Jim Sherraden from Hatch Show Print in Nashville, Tennessee.
Hatch Show Print is one of the oldest working letterpress printing shops in America and has popularized a certain look and feel, particularly in country music culture. For more information, go to the official Hatch Show Print website.
I carved all the stars, borders, and the large 17 by hand and printed everything on a Vandercook SP-15 flatbed press in the MassArt letterpress lab.
Hatch Show Print's style is recognized across the country, and often associated with music culture.
Title page from the Hatch Show Print book, ornately signed for me by Jim Sherraden in thanks of my poster.
